Despite its potential to be a cool movie and some eye-catching visual affects, this movie was a disappointment. The antagonist’s back story was weak (I really didn’t know why the bad guys were “bad”), I couldn’t find ANY likable characters, and the acting was about as compelling as a box of dirt.

28 Weeks Later managed to reach out, hook me up to a defibrillator, and give me some serious jolts. Creepy music, dazzling cinematography, and high-contrast scene tempo brought a “seen-it-before” genre to a whole new level of entertainment for me.

It seems like a hectic couple of weeks lately.
My son got mad at me because I don’t think he’s ready for a car. We argued for a week about it and he chose not to come over two Wednesday’s ago.
My daughter ended up in the ER with severe abdominal pain. CAT scan showed ovarian cyst (common), but sonogram the next day showed nothing. Still not sure what’s going on.
My Mom went to the hospital with a body full of cancer. It originated as breast cancer, but has spread fairly significantly including multiple tumors on her spinal column. She is not going to have any surgery – just radiation and medication to hopefully put it in remission, but ultimately she wants to be pain free. She’s 64. We visited her last weekend in the hospital, but she’s moved to a rehab hospital to work on walking and such.
Work is work – nothing new there.
We’re finally enjoying some time alone to unwind.

Sunday Projects #2 and #3 March 17, 2008

Yesterday’s #2 and #3 projects were not nearly as critical as job #1, but I completed them as well. Job #2 was to install vertical blinds on the back patio door. No major issues with that one and it turned out pretty good.
Job #3 was to re-glue the laminate onto the kitchen counter top right above the dishwasher. I haven’t removed the weights and phone books from holding it down, so I’m not sure how that one turned out.
GM was trolling craigslist and found another recliner for us. It’s a Lazy Boy swivel, recliner-rocker. Now we have two recliners in our living room in front of the TV. We also found a lampshade for the lamp in there at a thrift store.
If you are waiting for me to wish you a Happy St. Patrick’s day, you may want to bring a book. I don’t celebrate this holiday and never really got too jazzed up about it as a kid either. But, I enjoy looking up things I don’t quite understand, so I went to the trusty “How Stuff Works” site and found this explanation. I’m still not quite sure how we make the leap from a Christian/Irish Heritage Holiday to acting like a drunken idiot, wearing green, and pinching people who don’t, but whatever – it’s not like Jesus and the Easter Bunny have a real tight connection either. And if anyone tries to pinch me because I’m not wearing green, I will seriously kick their ass!

I successfully changed the DPFE sensor on the van! After some frustrations with the tools, it took me only a few minutes.

After the install, I started the van successfully (that’s the key, if I can get it back together and it starts, I feel pretty good). I left it running, gathered my phone, cigs, and coffee and headed for a road test. I went @15 miles on the highway, came back home and still no engine light. I won’t be shocked if it eventually comes back on (takes some time for the computer to read everything), but at least I didn’t fuck it up!
Always such a confidence booster!

We had a good day yesterday, even though we didn’t get to our outside endeavors. While GM was having her nails done, I went to the bank and ran a couple of errands including getting a new DPFE sensor for the van – it’s an awful small part for $60, but hopefully it will solve the problem. I picked her up and we braved Wal-Mart for our weekly grocery excursion. It wasn’t bad. We were in and out within an hour. Groceries are really going up in price, but we had to get a few extra things that pushed our bill close to $200. Wal-Mart is painful enough without having to shell out that kind of cash just to keep food on the table and our house functional. We picked up some Sonic on the way home. It was terrible. The burgers were small and dry and the bread was stale. After lunch, we went to Lowes to start browsing their garden center – lots of inspiration and they haven’t even put their plants out! We got some vertical blinds for the patio door. We ventured over to Westlake and a couple of thrift stores. We came away with a garden hoe (he he – I said hoe).. and some misc stuff from the thrift stores.
We got home for good and stripped naked. We did some housework – naked, then had some play time. GM wanted to watch me jack off with a toy in my ass. She loves watching me make myself cum and I enjoy being watched. I came a ton! LOL
We had dinner then nestled back in bed. It didn’t take too long for us to get horny again. She shaved her pussy and I just couldn’t resist getting my tongue down there! MMMMM – so slick and tasty. We ended the evening watching American Gangster. At first it started a bit slow and confusing. I was getting frustrated at the parallels between it and The Godfather, but then it came together and turned out to be a really good movie.
So, now it’s Sunday morning and we’re planning on staying in. I’ve got 3 “honey-do” project to work on. One is critical that I don’t fuck up (changing the sensor on the van). How it goes will set the tone for the rest of the day. If I don’t fuck it up, I’ll have the tool-wielding confidence to tackle the others! For fun, we’ll probably play some darts, make a dirty flick (she wants to ride me on the couch and I want to tape it), take some naughty pics, and watch another movie. It will be a great day!

We were hoping for some of the beautiful weather we’ve had this past week to carry into today, but it looks like we’ll strike out again. We’re itching to get out in the yard and do some Spring preparations. The kids helped me clean up the front yard last weekend, but the back yard it still covered with leaves. Oh well, we’ll run some errands this morning and then think of some “indoor” activities to do – maybe we’ll do some sorting in the garage. We’d like to have a garage sale this Spring.
